Prep Time: 15 minutes
4-6 small eating apples, at room temperature.
4-6 x 20cm lollipop sticks
100g white chocolate, very finely chopped
Edible sprinkles, such as small glittery star, optional.
Line a baking sheet or board with baking parchment. Wash each apple then dry well with kitchen paper. Twist off the stems. If the apples don't stand up securely on their own, cut a small slice off the base so they don't fall over. Stick a lollipop stick in the top of each apple, almost but not quite through to the bottom.
Quarter fill a small pan with water and bring to a boil. Put the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl that will sit over the pan without touching the water. Sit the bowl of chocolate over the pan of gently boiling water and immediately remove the pan from the heat. Leave until the chocolate has melted, stirring occasionally.
Holding each apple by its stick, and over a baking sheet lined with baking parchment to catch any drips, drizzle the melted white chocolate all around each of the apples using a teaspoon. Sit the apples on the baking parchment, scatter with the stars if using and set aside for the chocolate to set.
