Hair removal tips

Waxing

The key to waxing is to exfoliate before hand to avoid those pesty ingrown hairs. While waxing, remember to pull the strip against the hair growth to ensure you gain maximum results and be sure not to swim or use any treatments 24 hours before and after waxing to save irritating your skin.

Shaving

When shaving it is a good idea to use a razor especially designed for sensitive skin, but make sure you change it regularly as a blunt razor will aggravate the skin. For best results rub an ice cube over the area immediately after shaving, this will quickly close the pores and soothe any irritation. It’s also important to use a good moisturiser after shaving. Applied daily it will leave your skin feeling silky smooth, but not only that, it will also prevent your hair from growing back so quickly so you don't have to shave your legs so often.

Epilating

Before you start to epilate make sure the skin is free-from moisturiser then, holding the skin taught, move the epilator in an upward direction. Epilating is a good method of hair removal as hair becomes finer with less growing back over time and you will get used to the tingling sensation quickly!

IPL – (Intense Pulse Light)

IPL (Intense Pulse Light) is a gentler, more affordable way to remove hair than laser hair removal. IPL machines target the hair follicle rather than deeper within the skin to give you super smooth, long-lasting result.

Laser Treatment

Lasering gives long-term results; silky smooth skin for up to 3 months and when hair grows back it will be finer after every treatment however it is most effective on girls with dark hair and un-tanned skin so it’s not suitable for everyone. Laser treatment is also not suitable for anyone who has been in the sun and/or is going in the sun 30 days prior and 30 days after the treatment. It’s recommended that anyone who is pregnant should not have this treatment and anyone on medication should consult their doctor or GP.

Electrolysis

Electrolysis removes hair permanently. As this method removes one hair at a time, its ideal for areas on the face such as the upper lip, chin or stray hairs, however a lot of treatments are required to achieve the perfect result.
